Photoshop 2......
I enjoyed playing with the lighting and contrast, BUT it was also VERY frustrating, when I could not get it the way I wanted it..... Picture 1 is of is of "E" I also played with the brightness and contrast the Brightness was changed to +82 and the Contrast was changed to +21.... Picture 2"T" and I changed the Brightness to +36 and the Contrast to +56, I like the way the colors are and how his face looks.I like "T's" picture better but "E's" picture is also a favorite of mine.....

Great job! The lighting adjustment makes all the difference... and those two kids are very cute! :-)
I know what you mean by frustrating... sometimes it's easy to play with the tools too much and you over-do it (you didn't over-do anything in these photos, I'm just speaking from recent experience...) Like that one article said, less is more.
Anni: These are really great shots. The photo of "E" came out really well. I find that there is a mysterious quality brought out by the hair that the photo retained after you "fixed" it. With the shot of "T" there is light added to the whole shot that also sets the mood of light childlike playfulness. SUPER job your effort paid off!
Your frustration paid off the children look chipper and the pictures seem perfectly lit.
I haven't submitted my work this week because of the frustration I'm having with the burn and dodge tools. I keep over doing it and deciding to choose another picture. However, both your girls look a lot brighter and stand out more - good job.
